The Public Affairs Division is the information link between city government and the media. It produces the community newsletter Pasadena in Focus, prepares and distributes news releases, answers media inquiries, oversees all programming on KPAS, and develops and sells City Hall souvenirs. The Public Affairs division provides media relations and public relations counsel to city departments.
Northwestern Programs Office serves and as liaison between the community and the City Manager office to identify and address the needs of Northwest Pasadena, and maintain an healthy business environment in the northwestern area of Pasadena and to facilitate development projects through the entitlement process in coordination with the other departments.

Internal Audit is charged with promoting good governance by evaluating the internal controls and efficiency and effectiveness of the City of Pasadena. Internal Audit is also responsible for the City’s Fraud Hotline, which receives and tracks complaints related to fraud, waste and abuse within the City.
Mr. Mermell was appointed City Manager by unanimous vote of the City Council and assumed his duties February 15, 2016. As City Manager he is the Chief Administrative Officer of the City and is charged with supervising, coordinating, and administering the various functions of the City. He has direct responsibility for all departments, divisions, and offices of the City with the exception of the City Attorney/Prosecutor and City Clerk which are separately appointed by the City Council.
