Glendale Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan Chosen as Vice President; Burbank Commissioner Ray Adams Named Secretary
BURBANK, Calif., July 18, 2017 – On Monday, July 17, 2017, the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, owner and operator of Hollywood Burbank Airport, elected new officers to head the Airport Authority Commission for a one-year term from July 2017 through June 2018. The Commission elects officers each July.
Pasadena Commissioner Terry Tornek, who is also the Mayor for the City of Pasadena, was elected President. Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan of Glendale was elected Vice President and Commissioner Ray Adams of Burbank was chosen Secretary.
Pasadena Mayor Tornek, left, was first appointed to the Airport Authority in April 2012 and served as Vice President this last term and Secretary the previous term.
Sinanyan was first appointed to the Commission in May 2015, and served as Secretary this last term. Adams was first appointed to the Commission in February 2015, and served as Auditor this previous term.
In related actions, the Authority reappointed Pasadena Commissioner Dr. Ross Selvidge as Treasurer, appointed Burbank Commissioner Don Brown as Auditor and reappointed Executive Director Frank Miller as Assistant Secretary.
The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority is a joint powers authority formed by the three cities to own and operate Hollywood Burbank Airport. The Airport Authority is governed by a nine-member Commission, and each of the three cities appoints three Commissioners.
In addition to the officers, the other current Commissioners are: Bill Wiggins of Burbank; Paula Devine and Vartan Gharpetian of Glendale; and Steve Madison of Pasadena.
