Black History Parade and Festival

Join us for the 36th Annual Black History Parade & Festival, Feb17, 2018. The Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. at Charles White Park on Fair Oaks Avenue and Ventura Street in Altadena; then heads south on Fair Oaks Avenue before ending at Robinson Park, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave., Pasadena, CA 91103.
Filmed and live streamed by Pasadena Media, the Parade will feature the Pasadena City College Herald Trumpeters, along with additional entries including local and visiting School Bands coming from as far away as San Diego, social clubs, musicians, dancers, equestrians, local youth groups, sponsors City of Pasadena, MillerCoors, Wescom Credit Union, Pasadena City College, Pasadena Black Pages, Wells Fargo Bank, Tournament of Roses, dignitaries and community leaders. Celebrity Guest include Janice Freeman “Voice” contestant, Erin Green “America Next Top Model” contestant, Comedian/Actor Buddy Lewis and KJLH Radio Host Aundrae Russell.
Immediately following the parade, we will host a Festival from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Robinson Park and will be on Hammond Street and Fair Oaks Avenue. With two stages, with live entertainment. The main stage will feature local talent, churches, Soul Singer Ria Rosea with legendary R & B singing group “Slave” headlining the afternoon. The Youth stage hosted by Pasadena City College will feature local youth talent. The Festival will also feature food vendors and informational booths.
