Pasadena Transit Route 88 – Your Transportation to Inspiration!

Starting April 7 and into summer, Pasadena Transit is launching Route 88 between the Echo Mountain/Inspiration Point Trailhead and the Gold Line Memorial Park Station.

Pasadena Transit Route 88 is special route travelling between the Metro Gold Line Memorial Park Station and the Sam Merrill Trailhead in Altadena. This demonstration project is the result of a coordinated effort by the City of Pasadena, County of Los Angeles Supervisor Barger, the Trust for Public Land, and The Wilderness Society. The project is being funded by County of Los Angeles Supervisor Barger, City of Pasadena, and a grant from Edison International.

Pasadena Transit Route 88 will be a local service with stops along the route. The Metro Gold Line can be used to connect to Route 88 at the Memorial Park Station. Travel time to the trailhead is 23 minutes. Buses will leave every half hour from the northbound Raymond and Holly bus stop between 7:05 a.m. to 4:35 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The last bus will depart from the Trailhead at 5 p.m. The Sam Merrill Trailhead is the access point to the Echo Mountain and Inspiration Point trails. For more information call 626-744-4055.

Pasadena Transit live bus arrival times can be found on the Pasadena Transit homepage, through the Pasadena Transit app or at BusFinders at select stops.

Launch Event
To celebrate the launch of the route, an event will be held at Memorial Park at 9 a.m. on April 7.  All rides on April 7th and April 8th will be free on Route 88.
