About Community Planning
Community Planning is part of the Planning Division, which also includes Current Planning and Zoning and Design and Historic Preservation. Community Planning generally works with the community to guide Pasadena’s growth, striking a balance between the needs of today with the goals for the future, as outlined in the City’s 2015 General Plan.
- Develop and update long-range plans
- Update the Zoning Ordinance and Map
- Review development projects for consistency with the General Plan
Community Planning also provides technical support to the Planning Commission, which is an advisory body to the City Council on the preparation and review of the General Plan, as well as the adoption or implementation of programs under the General Plan.
